Presumed Guilty

When an individual is arrested no matter if the case is thrown out the person lives with the pain for a lifetime.  I should know because I was arrested for a crime that was so fallacious that it was thrown out before a grand jury was even called, yet in the back of my head it always disturbs me that someone might presume wrongly. If the police had done even 1/2 of an investigation they would have seen that the crime I was accused was physically impossible. It was more likely that I had tail or Santa Clause existed then the accusation that was put in front of them was true  but my name isn’t Clinton so arrest 1st ask questions later.  The police threatened me in unspoken terms after the case was dropped after I asked them to arrest the individual who brought false charges to the court. I later won a civil case against this individual but with him being a penniless lawyer it amounted to a box of beans.

The fear is so profound that I’ve written about almost everything but have held this one back. Yet there are too many innocent people out there that are “presumed guilty” even before a trial occurs, that I had to speak out.  Justice needs to be heard throughout our land and the investigators should be more interested in that factor then got a collar for their medals. Good life’s across this nation are being destroyed because of false accusations and we need to put a stop to it!   Here a few solutions (below) that could insure justice is truly heard.

(1) PRINT- The media should be forced to print information on those who’s cases have been dropped or face libel lawsuits.

(2) PROSECUTE- Those who bring false charges should be prosecuted as aggressively as those who have been accused.

(3) PROTECT- Individuals who have brought charges against another individual should be given protection against those individuals even court protection during the investigative period.

(3) PROVIDE– Unless their is a court order that an arrest is necessary for public safety at that moment, investigators should provide time for the accused (with legal counsel)to state their case before any arrest can be taken place.  This way clear alibi’s can be thoroughly vetted in advance.
