Today I lost a friend

“Snowflake” wasn’t just our dog but our true friend. She comforted us when we were sad, made us laugh when we were mad,  and showed us love all the time. After courageously battling for six months with Cancer her trachea collapsed, she was unable to walk, eat and even had extreme difficulty just breathing. Two doctors, my rabbi and friends told me it was time to put her down because she was just suffering at this point but I still battled with the decision. The decision was finally made when I truly saw there was no hope here. It was the most difficult decision I ever had to make but I find peace in knowing that G-D has given our family such a wonderful friend that is truly in a better peaceful place now.

I am so sorry to read this. Snowflake was a wonderful dog and you were so good to her. You made her comfortable in her last moments on earth. She is now at peace and is no longer suffering, and as you said, there was no hope left, so please know that you made the right decision, and do not second-guess yourself. I am glad that I had the opportunity to see Snowflake at New Years for what turned out to be the last time. She was so tired that she slept through all the noise and merriment of the New Year’s celebration. May Snowflake rest in peace. All my best to you and your family at this sad and difficult time.

    Barbara
