To win the CBS South Carolina debate this Sunday will require unique skills and knowledge that haven’t been observed in the previous debates which include the following points (below). For those that have already decided will have to reason to change their vote and those that are undecided will have to hear something new to catch their attention.
(1) STOCK MARKET CRASH- Most American’s are being hurt by this downturn but it needs to be explained how it effects Mr. & Mrs Smith and what we can do to get out of it.
(2) SELF DEPRECATING – A candidate must be willing to go out of his (sorry Carly is out) way to find humor in a character or mistake they have made in the past.
(3) PERSONAL- It’s important that this individual tell how their life experiences relate to those that are watching and how they “feel their pain” (bite your lip if you must)
(4) OUTSIDE ATTACKS-Try not to name those that you are attacking or they have a chance for rebuttal but attack their persona in a way that is obvious to the viewer.
(5) NAMED ATTACKS- Start with a compliment then hit them with attack allowing them the chance to look bad on rebuttal.
(6) PAST ACCOMPLISHMENT IN STORY NOT RESUME- Tell how your past experiences (wins & losses) make you uniquely qualified for the job without resume building.
(7) PAINT A PICTURE- Make sure the words you use illustrate a grand vision that the viewer can hold onto till the voter booth.
