My daughter would often climb out of her crib to sneak in our bed until I broke the strong will. It occurred one night where I would sit in her room and every time she got out of the crib would return her back to it without any reaction on my part. My mechanical response finally wore her down till she knew that escape was futile or that the crib was the right place to be. This ability to continue to stay on course even as the strong willed continue to hit must be the mantra I follow. For the one who allows the other to get past the crib whether with extreme emotion or “kindness” is the one who has to move off the bed.
