Steps Away

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

I started out with the best intentions but little by little I was pulled away. My goal was to make this a better place and that is why I sought public office.  I fought for a policy I truly believed in with all my heart and soul. Yet to get to see that policy passed I had to take strong positions on other issues that I didn’t really know about or in someway actually disagreed with not to deep down inside. While I sincerely believed my opponent had good motives as well my “advisers” pulled me into the mud and once I was there even the cleanest shower couldn’t make me clean. I had spent so much time and $$’s (others as well) to get here and  the end my policy position didn’t matter just the ability to hold on to this cushion job. Until the voters realized my values were not steps away but miles from where I started and that is when public life ended while my good private life began.

FOOTNOTE- How many politicians have not had this ending they deserve.?

Under Arm Deodorant & Faith

One may wonder where to start a prayer I say let’s start with the roll on.

(1) Thank you G-D for allowing me to have arms to put under arm deodorant on.

(2) G-D I’m truly grateful that I have the ability to put on this product in a smooth even based.

(3) It’s wonderful G-D that you allowed me to born in a time period where there are so many choices of this product to choose from.

(4) I know this morning it might have been lost like my keys but thank you G-D for giving the insight to find it in time.

(5) Many a product appears to work but doesn’t therefore I thank you and many who will see me do the same. For  G-d  this product appears to be working again… at least this morning.

(6) I could have been born in a nation where this product is restricted or because of shortages isn’t available. I thank you G-D for this isn’t the case.

(7) Finally I thank you G-D for allowing me and my loved ones to live another day in which we could use said product among or other daily living activities. For without life I wouldn’t be able to write how thankful we are.

Dead Flower

I don’t know why I still hold you as all the beauty you had has faded away. For some bizarre reason I must believe you will suddenly sprout back to life even as day by day you wither away. Maybe’s it’s the memories of what had bloomed that keeps you still so close to me or maybe I feel there is nothing else for me to hold onto.  All I know is that you’re still here if only you were truly just a plant.

Life Roles

I play a husband, father, business man, writer etc but were never given the script in advance. A matter fact my whole life can be compared to “improv” where I suddenly will be thrown into a new role without much or any context before hand. How much time did we spend learning the role of a husband or wife before rings were exchanged? When did we study the works of plumber before we had to fix the toilet?   Sometimes my acting is so real that even I believe it at other times those in the action walk off the set.  Often I play an expert (Computer Expert, Accountant etc) where my silence is truly golden and eye expression as well as  facial looks get me through these part. We all have our roles to play even when the camera isn’t running.
