I’m torn by the House Of Representatives leader Nancy Pelosi going to Taiwan. Before I get into the particulars (below) let me be honest I’m generally routing for the other team whenever I see the “Speaker” yet on the other end believe no government should restrict travel for any American Citizen including our own except in times of “direct war”. Maybe you can help me figure out which way to finalize the “tear” (below) as your comments are always appreciated it.
PRO TAIWAN TRIP
- It is important to show support to our “allies”, especially in these difficult times.
- Taiwan produces the micro-chips that keep much of our communications and economy going and as they have this back we should have theirs.
- The country of Taiwan is a capitalist democracy in a sea of dictatorships.
- It’s good to see our country have some “backbone” after foreign policy disasters such as “Afghanistan”
- China is as dependent on us as we are on them and therefore a war would hurt them as much or more than us at least in the short term.
ANTI-TAIWAN TRIP
- Our county is unprepared for a response from “China” who is very angry about this decision.
- China can easily blockade Taiwan causing major disruptions in the key component of our economic needs “micro-chips”
- If China stops importing the medical supplies that they control or even slows their export to our country people will die.
- We have become fully dependent on the “essential goods” made in China and as a result, our economy will come to a halt with any wartime-type action.
- This administration has made our military woke and weak instead of strong and forceful.
