A forensic therapist will analyze all the data surrounding their patient before making a basis for treatment as a whole. This will include interviews with loved ones and those that are not loved that much anymore. This is not to argue with a patient but to find a treatment plan based on reality not the perception thereof. The forensic therapist will still be that empathic ear for the pain and suffering that a patient will be going through with no judgment but at least have the facts so they can move toward a stronger more durable recovery than standard therapy.
