New ….s

News should be “new” 1st to make the headlines.  Yes, the weather, sports, and local traffic should be included but what should make someone stop and listen is the “new” in the news.  It’s true we must report about politicians lying even if it is getting real old and stories that sadly today are becoming oh to predictable like inflation and crime rising yet for the headlines to grab us something new should stand out.  Last night I heard such news and I’m sorry to say it was very bleak. The report said the number of deaths from 18 -60 has gone up 40 % without Covid playing a role in it?  Why such a “new” story didn’t break into the general news cycle is beyond my comprehension all I can say is we should get back to what news is not what information will benefit one group or another.
