Maybe when we pick a leader we should look to competence 1st? This leader should have the cognitive skills that have been tested with many a speech and performance as they are truly investigated before any votes are taken. Yes, one may agree or disagree on a policy issue but without the ability to see it through what is the point? It is also true that we might want a leader with whom we can have a beer with but do we want one that needs a sippy cup? This is the type of competence to do the job 40 plus hours not 9-2 a couple of days a week. Maybe some words should be refrained from one who is in leadership but I believe it’s more important that they have not to mumble through a speech. Competence is not something that can be learned on the job and is the quality everyone should look for before casting a vote.
