When someone has an insane thought one can ignore it, support the emotions without their “reality”, oppose it, or feed into it. The individual who feeds such thoughts is more interested in thinking they are “supporting” the individual than actually truly helping them. They will cover or dodge the inaccuracies to find any piece of rationality that will help them think they are being logical as well. This does not truly help the individual but drag them further into a false narrative. Let’s face it dealing with those that have mental health conditions can be daunting and sometimes you might feel it’s easier just to give in. Yet if one stays strong and supports their emotions not facts then in the end both minds will move closer to reality and better health as well.
