It’s the path you’ve been chosen to take even as every step is filled with fear. Doubt become thicker and thicker as you look at all the things that can go wrong and know there is a “safer path” around the corner. That is how Jacob must have felt when he was encountering Esau a brother who he believed had rage and revenge only feet away. Yet Jacob knew this was the journey he must take to get to the promised land. We as well will have to go through much darkness to find the true oasis that G-D has put near our doorway. There will be a route that appears safe yet safety doesn’t always bring true security. One must also not trade security for liberty because in the end, they will have neither a quote Benjamin Franklin said with better elegance. We instead must walk through many a path that can be off our beaten trail if we really want to reach our own personal heaven at the end.
