When they were young we empathized with every scratch yet as the years go on we expect them to get their own bandages. Yet sometimes those scratch’s we expected them to quickly recover from become wounds that they can’t find a band aid for. In those times we have to bring our minds back to the early years and be there even if it was many, many decades before. Feeling for scratch’s that honestly shouldn’t hurt now, is not the honesty we need for them when they are hurting. If it’s big in a loved one’s eye’s then it should appear big in your heart as well even if it takes a microscope to see it.
