They Lied To Me

I’m the one in the middle of that mob believing their every word until the facts got in the way. I believed there was rampant killing of innocent African Americans by Police Officer till I read  the truth. A Washington Post news reported  that in 2019  ten unarmed African Americans were killed by police officers and most of those were under extreme duress. While one death is too many this is not an epidemic as many a speaker proclaimed.  I believed it when they said this protest would be peaceful until the rocks and Molotov cocktails were thrown over my head. They told me this was about equal justice then the mob convicted everyone wearing blue.  They said we were going to fight for justice for George Floyd yet the wheels of justice were moving straight ahead without us even picking up a sign. Lies, upon lies just to provoke my anger that was at best written by a screen writer “based on a somewhat true story”  So the next time they call me to attend a social justice protest I won’t pick up my phone.

FOOTNOTE- I wonder if any “peaceful protester’s” had these feeling after the mayhem?
