You’re having a heated discussion that is taking away from your work but you want that last word then maybe it should be sorry. It doesn’t mean that your point is wrong it could just mean that you’re sorry that the discussion had to become so heated or that the words you spoken caused such trauma for the other person. You could be sorry that this discussion took away from the important other work that you were going to do or sorry that is caused a raucous with those around you. Yet no matter what that last word is a closer and you’ll be better off for saying it.
