Puerto Rico Policeman Kills

Puerto Rico Policeman kills

Guarrionex  Candelario Rivera is accused of killing 3 other police officers over an argument that went way out of control which brings us to the point what happens to society when police officer(s) loses it?  Here is a person who is trained to use their weapon to protect society but then a switch of evil turns it against society instead.   This is why it’s essential that we not only train our law enforcement officials once and then bring them on the force but continually work with them to insure they will always be fit for the job.  This might include requiring not only physical check ups but mental health as well.  It also is important that we allow such officers that are having some difficulties an outlet, where they can continue to work in the law enforcement field, while getting treatment. This way they can continue to help others without feeling the stigma wrongly associated with mental health treatment and not be a danger to themselves  or those around them (ex desk work)  If such measures are taken maybe we can avoid such tragedies as the one that occurred in Puerto Rico today.

Better

Better 2

How would you react if you found out that you were smarter, better looking, wealthier, or just better then you ever assumed before?  Would you feel as if a bright light that was hidden just went off? How would you react to those around you that you thought were “equals” but now you find out that you’re truly brighter then them? Could you now take that risk that before you believed only those with “……”  could take?  Where can someone go to find the truth anyway? Check out my next blog piece and you just might help turn that switch.

Trump calls Newspaper ” A Pile of Trash”

Joseph Mcquaid donald Trump 2

Donald Trump took a swipe at the Manchester Union and it’s Publisher Joseph Mcquaid after he compared Trump to the fictional character “Biff Tannen” from the Back to The Future series which raises an interesting point. Is it best to ignore your critics or attack them back?  In the case of this election it appears that the attack mode is certainly working?  I on the other hand have normal ignored my critics and even have challenged their assertion without insulting the character of the one who is criticizing.  Yet maybe I should once in awhile take a card from the Trump playback because it appears that he keeps on drawing a full house with this approach. The Union Leader was very brash in their criticism of the Donald so maybe they deserved a slap back as well but wouldn’t it have been a bit refreshing if there was a bit more then just the slap but context as well. I guess in the end it would be beneficial if I had a bit more Trump in me but maybe it would be helpful to Trump if he had a bit of Bud Rebel in him as well.

New Year’s Resolution- Less Waste

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

New Years Eve

This “New Years Resolution” is to have less waste in my life.  I will attempt to rid my life of clutter that I no longer use or that looked better in the marketing picture then in real life.  It also is apparent that I waste too much time on projects  and conversations that truly go no where. The truth as much I feel passionately about an issue it’s probably correct that the other side feels the same way about their issue and we will have to learn to disagree and move on.  This year efficiency with time will also mean telling those that I love them that I actually do a bit more instead of wasting time with negative thoughts and emotions.  Finally, it should be the beginning of a new year of going for opportunities that leap at me or at least take a step in my direction, for life is too short not to have a bit more fun and excitement with it.

Madonna’s son- caught in the middle on Christmas

Madonna Guy Ritchie

When stars divide a child can be left behind and this appears to be the case with Madonna & Guy Ritchie as their 15 year old son is forced by a court order to stay with his mother over Christmas. It is difficult enough when parents of the not so famous split up can you imagine the added pain when fame is involved and with that power as well. For shouldn’t a 15 year old be able to decide which parent they want to stay with over a Christmas break without a court having to get involved? Or do children of divorce become items to possess to rub it into the face of those who are no longer in their life.  It’s best not to be “The Material Girl” when a child is involved.

As we close on 2015 here are the tops ( click below) of the charts in music, television., Films etc. We still have some time so I think that “Star Wars The Force Awakens” may still be the biggest blockbuster of 2015, Adele “I’m Sorry” might become the number 1 pop song of the year, and Cam  “Burning House” is the number 1 country song according to Youtube. Now you’ll be prepared for any New Years Eve Party!

36 Save the world – “Lamed Vovnik”

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Faith - No Comments

Lamed Vovnik

At any given time it is said there are 36 holy people save the world from utter destruction but I say it’s 35 1/2 and 7 billion others. For it takes those  36 people to put us on the right path but the efforts of most of us add to the final number especially when the 36 person isn’t as perfect as he/she is expected to be. The truth is even the most holy person is still a person and falls from grace every once in awhile so let’s lift this individual up with our good deeds so we can add to that final number that saves the world.

4 – Quick Movie Reviews

Posted by Bruce - in arts and entertainment, Blog, Uncategorized - No Comments

I saw 4 action movies this weekend and though they aren’t the newest crop I decided to send you my review.  This way at least you’ll know whether it’s better to clean your room/house or watch these movies.

Ant- Man

ANT-MAN

**** Hire A Maid–  One of the best action movies I’ve seen in years. It’s full of plenty of action but is hilarious in ways that no action movie has gone before.  All the characters are well drawn out with an incredible script and most importantly it’s so much fun to watch.

San Andreas

SAN ANDREAS

*** 1/2 Keep the Maid but do a little dusting– I’m not the biggest fan of Dwayne Johnson’s acting ability (please don’t tell him he could probably bench me 10 times) yet with this movie he shined and with the continued action pumping through he fit the role perfectly. Surprisingly strong script but some of the lines were let’s say “silly and unrealistic” as was some of the action scenes. Paul Giamatti overplayed his role but who knows whether this was calling or was called on by the Director.  Overall a fun movie to watch.

the lazarus effect

LAZARUS EFFECT

***-A light cleaning- The script is well written and the acting is well done yet it turns into a predictable monster type film. Some of the points though leave you thinking for example ” If we return someone from the dead do we return them from heaven or hell”. The last scene made up for some of the film weaknesses though.

Terminator Genesis

TERMINATOR GENISYS

*-Clean your house and your neighbors house- Watch the first 5 minutes and then make up your own story because this film goes know where. Lousy script, poor acting, bad jokes maybe it’s time to put this film series to sleep.
