Stopping pilot/co-pilot murder!

flight crash

It appears that the Germanwings Flight 9525 was an act of murder by the Co-Pilot that could have been avoided, if proper measures were taken. It’s time we review such measures (below) and enact those that work ASAP to avoid such a disaster in the future.

(1) Pilot, Co-Pilot, Flight Attendants & Sky Marshall all have a separate password and key to enter cabin so that the Pilot and/or co-pilot never fly alone.

(2) Pilot & Co-Pilot are  (randomly) spoken to before and after a flight to discover if they are mentally and physically prepared to fly now or the near future. They are not initially penalized for withdrawing from a flight if they feel their not competent to do so.

(3) Mental Health treatment is offered openly and without stigma to those who need it without the fear of losing a license over the long run.

(4) If it appears that a pilot or co-pilot is about to crash the system will take over unless it is overridden by another official with a different code.

Respect

respect

Today many people don’t share proper respect to those in authority whether it be individuals sent to protect us and society such as the police and military or those who’ve earned their respect by positions of power or education.  I don’t believe this is what G-D has intended as shown by the way the Kohen were treated when offering sacrifices on behalf of the Jewish people and the world.   Think about how many conflicts would be avoided and how much we as individuals or society would gain by being respectful of each other and those who’ve earned it. We should and must engage those individuals when situations occur but if did on a respectful way our points will be more clearly heard and society itself will be better.

In the moment

smell a rose

Today I tried to live in the moment and not worry about all the items that seep through my mind.  For example it is apparent to me that most people aren’t fixated with the news  (especially political news) so I decided to take a break from the news stations and put on a music or comedy station instead. Many a day I fret about what is going to happen at work but today I decided to take it one step at a time.  To make those quiet moments last extra long my cell phone decided to take a break as well (not planned). This was especially interesting when I entered the subway and located the one other person in the subway who didn’t have a cell phone and didn’t smell like urine to have a conversation with.   Living in the moment allowed me the freedom to observe and understand different things that I might often neglect. It is an experiment that I would like to repeat every once in a while in between Fox News Alerts.

Stopping the President

white house 2

What stops a lame duck President from doing what he/she wants regardless of the constitution?  We hope it would be the oath that they swore to uphold when they were sworn in but if those words were empty political speech to them what’s next? It could be an impeachment charge but that is a long difficult path and if there is ingrown support in certain communities it’s sure to be ineffective.  Political pressure from the party that they are connected with might help but if the President only surrounds him/herself with supporters it might be tough rode to cross.  The only way to stop a wayward President is for their closest friends to turn on the President. If the media they count on to tell their story starts telling a different story and the friends that invite the President to “golf outings” close the invitation then maybe the President will truly stop and think.  Otherwise we the American people must sit and pray that some how the truth seeps into the President’s head.

If you complain…

complain

If you complain and want empathy then be ready for the solutions. If you won’t take the time to listen respectfully to those solutions then your empathy will slowly disappear. The solutions that you find alone will have to work completely or you will have know one to blame except yourself. Even if you implement a token amount of the solutions that one offers it will lesson the blame if things don’t work out and allow you to continue to have some empathy in the future. If one the other hand you can logically convince the others that this policy is best and they take some credit for it’s implementation then they also can take some blame for it’s failure as well. The point is simple if you are to complain to others then you must listen to them as well.

Under Microscope

looking under microscope

It’s amazing how some acts and words are observed under a microscope while others can’t hardly be seen by a telescope. I would normally jump to the media’s liberal bend to favor certain individuals but then we’d have to ignore Howard Dean’s rant.   Maybe it’s the surprise factor that makes those words and acts draw more attention then others. Would it shock us if Bill Clinton made an advance on single woman yet an advance by the Pope would definitely make the headlines.  What’s sad to say is that the actions or words might be quite similar  but because one person is put on a higher pedestal their actions bring a steeper decline that continues far longer then the person who has a reputation. There are also the taboo words that make more of a dent then other words touch the racial or feminist rail and you truly might get burnt long after a word is spoken.  The problem is that microscope continues to look for different criteria and when it hits its mark it makes larger then it truly should appear and a reputation can be ruined forever.

Carly Fiorina announces before Hillary

carly fioronaihillary clinton angry

Can you imagine the look in Hillary Clinton’s face if Carly Fiorina upstages her announcement for President by declaring a day or so before that she will be running for President. The media would have to cover this GOP woman who seeks the Presidency and it would take steam out of Hillary’s Clinton announcement.  A matter of factor if I know the way that Mrs. Fiorina would declare her decision to run it would include some facts Hillary wouldn’t want to hi light. Which would help potential voters look at the facts on the ground not the emotion in the air when Hillary makes such an “announcement”.   Let’s just hope my imagination turns into reality.

Good & Bad

good and evil 2

I believe one of the most difficult concepts to grab is that there is good and evil in every group whether it be political, business, ethnic, religious or charity.
There will be people there for the right reasons and those for the wrong reasons.  Individuals who will look to climb the ladder upon the necks of those that “work with them” and those that rise above others for the good works they do.  In between will be the cynical types who will follow whichever road appears to be stronger at the time. The challenge is to be willing to root out the evil even publicly if need be to make sure the cream really rises to the top and your group can meet the goals it needs to be successful.

Afraid of

afraid of

To be honest as brave as I might appear to others there are certain things that I’m terrified of.  Here is the top five that worry me.

(1) DYING NOT DEATH- It is the process of waiting in pain to get to your maker especially if you lose your mind along the way that is truly scary.

(2) CONFLICTS NOT FIGHTS- I would be willing to fight for what I believe in but fear getting into conflicts with friends and family.

(3) LONELINESS BUT NOT BEING ALONE- Many nightmares come to mind where people abandon me although I enjoy many solitude activities.

(4) FOR MY FAMILY NOT MYSELF- In general I worry more about what happens to my loved ones over time then myself.

(5) EXISTING BUT NOT LIVING- It scares me that someday I might just exist but not create, learn or make some difference in the world around me or beyond.

dog watches tv

Today there are networks for dogs to watch television but without the right stimulus those dogs will still be watching you.  With “TV For Dogsthe television show is just part of the action an interactive matt that offers a light massage and gives out dog treats is what keeps them watching. The shows work with the stimulating mat to keep your dog entertained for an hour (that’s a lot for a non stuffed dog).  It’s time that your dog enjoy a television show the way they want to.
