Dog Weather

dog meterologist

If you truly want to check the local weather don’t rely on the meteorologist but look to your dog (or rented dog). Here’s how it works if your dog wants to go outside and do their business “Doomsday” probably can wait till tomorrow but if they refuse it might be time to get that flashlight, bottle watered and shot gun ready.  I can’t tell you that there always right but their percentages are much better then the meteorologist and you get a lick in return.

Egg on faces and body

egg on face

Today as I woke up expecting snow to cover the land I only found egg on all the Political “Nannies” and their media compadre’s.  They say don’t believe the hype and this clearly proves the point.  Don’t get me wrong it was important for our government officials and media elite to warn the citizens about any possible pending emergencies but there is a difference between a warning and hysteria. “Hysteria” consists of banning normal practices because you believe that you can only stop the doom. Maybe this group should spend some more time in Church or Synagogue and gain some humility from the true power, G-D.  They also might want to invite some of their “Global Warming” friends because if they can’t the weather right for one particular area within a few hours they surely can’t predict the world weather years out.

Threat STORM or BIG BROTHER?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy - No Comments

Is it just me or do you also believe “Big Brother” is more of a threat then this actual storm? NYC is totally closed to the people who live in there and they’ve closed roads all over NY. When did people lose the right to make their own decisions even if they were stupid?  Most people know not to cross traffic when a car is coming and most people are not planning to go on a road trip during a blizzard. People have survived storms as bad if not worse then the one we are expecting without government big arms pushing us around.  I believe the true foundations of society will get us through this storm as well. We don’t need government push because our common sense faith, family and local community G-D willing will continue to be the true help in times of need.

INDIVIDUAL

Posted by Bruce - in Philosophy, Uncategorized - No Comments

I believe it’s best to judge people as individuals not be age, race, religion or age. Therefore when people tell me someone can’t or shouldn’t do something because of any of these limitations I believe those individuals are limiting the person. They might have good intentions by “protecting them” from embarrassment, pain or injury but it is truly the individual who knows their limitations and most of the time they limit themselves as well. It has been more difficult for me to go on a roller coaster with loops but I would still try to determine if it is just the moment or truly a change in my body.  My eyes might not be able to see as far as they did a few years ago but I’ll continue to try to stretch that limit as well. We shouldn’t push one too much when something appears to difficult for them for any of the reasons above but encourage them to continue to climb that mountain even if it is a 1/2 step at a time.

Live Without!

thinking 2

I might have a few gray hairs and a few more wrinkles yet I haven’t hit the senior years and I’m just wondering how did we live without these 3 items. It is obvious that people have survived living in caves with only the air and ground beneath them but certain conveniences in modern life seem almost necessary today. Here are my three choices from my life period. WHAT WOULD YOU ADD TO THE LIST AND WHY?

(1)PERSONAL COMPUTER- It has hard to imagine that there was a time I would actually have to read books and go to the library to research information.

(2) GPS- I actually had to have a sense of direction to drive my car which I left somewhere a few years ago.

(3) NEW BALANCE CABELA’S SNEAKERS- The modern convenience of taking my dogs through snow and puddles without my feet getting wet is something I truly appreciate especially this winter.

Scheduler?

How much time is wasted at amusement parks waiting on long lines that never appear to end? These lines hurt business in so many ways from potential customers fear of attending such an amusement park to those attendees not enjoying the stores located in these parks,  but with a “SCHEDULER” all this could end. The “SCHEDULER” would insure that times are set for you to quickly enjoy the rides you want while visiting the shops and restaurants along the way. This “SCHEDULER” would take into account the age, interest and time you have planned for you and or your family or friends to attend the park and give you a drawn out schedule (with an easy map)  that matches those desires.  “SCHEDULER” insuring that fun is maximized.

American Sniper has hit the mark!

What  a brilliant piece of art that brings the audience in to all aspects of war and the effects it has on family and friend. The audience cheers, cries and truly feels the emotions of what it’s like to live as a solider. This film truly deserves it’s place in the nomination of best movie of the year if not the award itself.

Wall Street Weekend Edition 1/22/15-World & Wierd

wall street

In this weeks review of the “Wall Street Journal” I focused on the World & Weird.  I discovered new bits of information on the world stage as well as news  that had me stop and think a bit longer.  Here are those stories that made their mark on me with my comments italicized.

WORLD STAGE

(1) Mohammed Bin Nagef is 2nd in line to lead the Saudi kingdom.  He is best known for dismantling Al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia and is 55 years old. This appears to be a wise choice for the future.

(2) Greece move toward the left may push Europe In that direction as well.  This would spell trouble not just for Europe but the world economy as a whole.

(3) Russia and China’s relationship is warming up with the import of oil to China.  I hope the U.S and Europe don’t get swept under the rug.

THINKING NEWS

(1) Communities with large quantity of graduate decree recipients have some of the highest rates of non vaccinations. Shows brains doesn’t beat common sense.

(2) Many beekeepers are quitting the business because of the rise in expenses as  they try to hold down the fatality rate that occurs in the winter, where up to 30 % of their bees die. Bee’s play a role in almost everything we eat therefore a solution must be found.

(3) Maine is considering ending  tax exempt status on non profit’s property.  The greatest way to help those less fortunate is through the good works of the non-profits we therefore must work for their success not failure.

(4) President’s Obama’s State of the Union Address had the lowest rating as only 31.7 million American’s watched it.  Maybe he should have considered a different approach and truly listened to what the American people have said as demonstrated in the recent election results.

(5) If the Patriots win the Super bowl the stock market will decline as predicted by the the “Super Bowl Predictor” which has an 81 % accuracy rate and has 6 year winning streak. I still prefer the monkey on a dart board predictions
